The effects of colonization are both overt and subtle. Historically, it was the settler who created the narrative which favoured the telling of the stories from one perspective. One of the saddest realities of the process of colonization was the intentional subjugation and exploitation of indigenous peoples. Such human rights violations have created relational challenges affecting nations and communities globally, today. This training invites the participants to identify beliefs, worldviews, practices, and behaviours linked to colonialism that contribute to discrimination, racism, sexism, chauvinism, supremacism, xenophobia, genocide, lateral violence, etc., and equips them to become agents for transformation to foster intentional diversity, equity, and inclusivity.
